Where would Drinks on the House be without our friends and fans? Truthfully, we'd probably still be right here laughing, singing, and yes, even drinking together! It's what we do.

Still, it's nice to hear from our fans. Some of you have even taken the time to send us an email, which we have dutifully reported here. If you're reading this page, but haven't sent us an email yet, why wait? Just click on any of the email links in this paragraph, and get to it!

Also, because we're such good friends, we may provide a link on this page (scroll down) to your website. In the meantime, thanks for joining the growing crowd (mob) of fans. Remember our motto: Laughter is the best medicine; beer is a close second!

Comments from fans

  • Suzy H: "I really enjoyed your music at the open mic [at B.B. Rover's in Austin]. So much so that I gave you a little shoutout on my website blog. Thank you for the well wishes and best of luck to you too!" Suzy really liked Drummer Jokes, which we hope will keep her smiling during her upcoming East Coast tour (with gigs in North and South Carolina, plus Virginia). Sometime after that, she's off to Copenhagen, which is even farther east, we think.

  • David D: Wrote that he liked Mary Rode Joseph's Ass and Left Brain—Right Brain. He also enjoys "that song about thinkin' whose title I can't drink of right now" (a.k.a. Thinking 'Bout Drinking).

  • Phil H: Pulled John aside at a recent family gathering and told him he was disappointed when he couldn't find John's Pains in Low Places on the website. John had removed it a while back, but prompted by this unexpected show of support, he reinstated the song PDQ.

  • Edith Lynn: It wasn't actually an email to us, but our Number One fan on the Texas coast managed to get our Deep Blue Sea (Up Yours BP) "press release" in the online newspaper at Crystal Beach Local News. (NOTE: It was under the item titled "BP exec resigns after Drinks on the House parody.")

  • Keely M: This is fantastic! I laughed, [and we] were dancing to the music. Thanks so much.

  • Walt E: You are all very welcome for the photos. I enjoyed the Fan Appreciation Party. Wish I could have stuck around longer for the "adults only" show.

  • Caroline C: AWESOME! I'm also sending this to my bro who has a band these days. I like The Bawdy Song!

  • Don L: Wow, you plug my MySpace page AND reference my loquacity in your DOTHSPEAK glossalia? Truly, I have succeeded in becoming a minor footnote in the trivia game of life. Thanks, boys - I appreciate ya back. The fronts, not so much. Love and kisses to Kay.

  • Lynda B: I just had to send a humongous "THANK YOU" to my brilliant, talented big brother, David and to Dave, Larry and John for giving me one of the most memorable birthday celebrations I’ve ever had! I could have listened to you guys all night long.

  • Don L: I was totally blindsided by my reaction to The Bawdy Song; I suddenly, blindingly, saw the potential for sheer genius expressed through traditional Irish folk forms. Thank YOU for affecting my needy consciousness in a positive direction such as the world so desperately needs today! I shall try to live my life from this day forward with the philosophy in mind - "How would Drinks on the House satirize this?"

  • Lynda B: Hey guys!!!! Great songs, great memories! I grew up listening to big brother David playing the piano and singing and then when we would have family get togethers, listening, singing along with you guys! Some of the songs have brought back such great memories and times of enjoyment! Thanks and I look forward to hearing some more new stuff!!!

  • Don L: HohoYo, funny peeps - Just lovin' the site, bros, it's got it goin' on. I want the song about Kay really bad. The breaks in Why Can't We Just All Get Along? are absolutely perfect. Good job, Good luck!

  • Denice: I loved John's music. Also, is there a way to order a cd of his and have it mailed to my parents' home? Is there a title to a cd that I can pull up from Amazon for example??

  • Betsy W: I like Louisiana Girl. is that Harbaugh on all three parts?

  • Randall W: Hey, great stuff. Witch Creek Fire News is a little darker than i'm used to hearing from you, but nice work.

  • Betty H: Hi John, Now I know why you like to get together with your buddies and make music. How fun and there's some real talent there too! Thanks for sharing your other life with us.

  • Betsy W: Hilarious! I like the studio version of Sad Songs. i have sent your link to our friend leah. what a hoot!

  • Susan L: My favorite of the new songs has got to be Hog Heaven! Wanda’s husband just recently got a Harley, and I’ve got another friend who (mid-life crisis) got one, and one more friend whose husband has one. I want to play this song for ALL of them.

  • Dr. Boo: the writing on these songs is just twisted and i love it!!

  • Bart S has never actually sent us an email, but he deserves our special thanks for all the strange and unusual ways he has helped us in the past. We're not even sure if "Bart" is his real name. We thought it stood for: Backstage Arts Research Technician.

  • You: Your comment could be here, too. Just send us an email, and leave the rest to us.

  • David Patrick Dunn (a.k.a. "Buster Gutbucket") of DavidPatrickDunn.com is another great Texas songwriter we know. He once introduced John as the guy who wrote "that song about thinkin' whose title I can't drink of right now." Our kind of guy.

  • Suzy Husner, traveling troubadour of SuzyHusner.com, gave John an online "shoutout." She especially liked John's Drummer Jokes. (NOTE: Most guitarists appreciate this song and accept its verses as gospel.) We wish her the best of luck on her ongoing U.S. tour (summer 2013) and upcoming European tour.

  • Randall and Betsy Williamson, resident artists at 2 Wing Studio in New Orleans, appreciate Drinks on the House for our artistic integrity (a.k.a. "inability to turn a profit"). As Cajuns, they like songs about the Pelican State, like Louisiana Girl and Mardi Gras (Lose the Bra) .

  • Don Landry and Kathy Tinkle are great friends at the Jam Station in Plano, Texas. Don invites you to visit his myspace page at myspace.com/donsgdi.

  • Keely Morgan, inventor of the board game Cityism, is a great example of how our fans can be smart and sexy. She lives in Austin, Texas, the Live Music Capital of the World, so she knows good music when she hears it. Despite that, she likes some of our stuff, too.

  • Thanks to Walt Elliston for his photographic work at the 2009 Fan Appreciation Party in Plano, Texas. You can view more of Walt's work at adoramapix.com/elliston-images.

  • Jorge Machado has been a good friend and a big Drinks on the House fan since Dave met him at work. He plays our stuff for the local Harley Owners Group (HOG), for which we are very grateful. They especially like David's motorcycle song, Hog Heaven.

  • When our friend John Traphagan isn't busy professoring at The University of Texas, he plays drums with the Waterloo Jazz Quintet in Austin.

  • Brad Letney, artist and draftsman extraordinaire, enjoys listening to Drinks on the House between art exhibits featuring his paintings. He and his family especially enjoy John and Will's "live performance" of David's song, No Beans.

  • Our friend Tommy Stewart plays for the band Habitual in the Dallas area. He is also a former member of H2O.

  • Your name and website could be right here, too! Drop us an email today, so we can add you to the list.
