Birthday Bash - LIVE

Birthday Bash
Waaay back when John's wife Sheri was celebrating the 10th anniversary of her 30th birtday, she foolishly requested a Drinks on the House concert at her party. At this time, the group included: John Davenport (electric guitar and vocals), David Harbaugh (acoustic guitar and vocals), and Dave Jutras (bass guitar and vocals).

In typical Drinks fashion, the group started over-indulging the day before, and at some point, we decided to change our name to The New Happy Campers. Of course, we had a difficult time remembering the new name, so we flipped and flopped throughout the evening between it and Drinks on the House.

On the plus side, the audience was also pretty blitzed, so these (and many other) little mistakes are more noticable on the recording than they were during the party.

What can we say? It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Song ratings & recommendations

  • E = Everybody: Just because it's a family-friendly song doesn't mean it can't be funny, too. Recommended drinking: one juice box (spiked).
  • T = Teen: Like teenagers, these songs may push the boundaries a little. Recommended drinking: 1 - 2 beers.
  • M = Mature: Of course, "mature" really means a lot of potty humor that adults prefer to enjoy without children around. Recommended drinking: 3 or more beers.
  • S = Serious: Unlike most DOTH songs, these are deliberately not funny. We hope you will forgive us for these rare, aberrant efforts. Recommended drinking: Until you feel maudlin.
